A collection of references for classical control design, inspired by the work of Boris J. Lurie.

Boris J. Lurie received his PhD degree from the Institute of Transportation Engineering, St. Petersburg, and the DSc. degree from the Higher Attestational Commission, Moscow. The author or co-author of over 100 publications, including six books and nine patents, Dr. Lurie worked in the telecommunication and aerospace industries, and taught at Russian, Israeli, and American universities. For many years he was a senior staff member of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology. Dr. Lurie passed away in 2019, shortly after publishing the 3rd edition of his textbook Classical Feedback Control with Nonlinear Multi-Loop Systems.

“The main problem in control today is that people do not study classical control enough. Almost any problem can be solved optimally using classical Bode and Popov methods.” IEEE Control Systems Magazine, Feb 2007
